This unit is located at the east wing of the 2nd floor of Ghaem International Hospital next to Maternity and Neonatal unit. In order to have more and better control, nursing station has been designed in the middle. The rooms in this unit are beautifully designed in two separate rows as single and double rooms. Besides looking out very beautiful fields and green pastures, double rooms have facilities such as fully automatic electro-hydraulic beds, bathrooms with a shower, nurse call systems and sudden fall risk alerts in the bathroom, TV and sofa beds for patient companions to rest. On the other hand, single rooms in this unit have a computer with high speed internet connection, a microwave oven and a tea-maker as well along with those facilities in double rooms for the welfare of patients’ companions.

There are two Isolation rooms for patients with infectious disease in this unit with a corridor to the rooms equipped with an eye-washing sink and a Deconx dispenser (for disinfecting hands before entering patients’ rooms).

At the Emergency Trolley Equipment ward, there are ECG devices, portable oxygen capsules, negatoscopes, pulse oximeters, glucometers, digital thermometers, infusion pumps, etc for providing a better and of higher quality services. For the well-being of pregnant women and issuance of birth certificates for their babies, there is a birth certificate division in this unit. These certificates are issued and registered by the Administration of Civil Status Registration of Gilan in less than 24 hours.

Mina unit in Ghaem International Hospital has different wards including C-section, Hysterectomy, Diagnostic and Therapeutic Laparoscopy (ovary cysts, hysterectomy, congenital anomalies and myoma adhesion, endometriosis, ectopic pregnancy, etc), various types of Laparotomy surgery (hysterectomy, malignant cases of female reproductive system, ovaries and uterus, etc), various repair and aesthetic surgeries of the female genitalia and gynecology, repair of prolapsed bladder, etc in which relevant patients are admitted.

Laparoscopy is a closed surgical method in which all internal organs in the abdominal and pelvic cavities can be seen with a 5-12 mm telescope without the need for the abdomen to be cut open. Therefore, without any need for abdomen incision, many diseases can be diagnosed and treated by a surgeon. In this method, which usually requires general anesthesia, the surgeon is able to insert surgical instrumentations through 3-4 incisions of 5-10 mm in diameter into the abdomen and using an endoscope- with a very sensitive camera installed on its tip- can examine the said cavities. At Ghaem International hospital, this procedure is performed using state-of-the-art devices in well-equipped modern operating rooms. The advantage of this method over other open surgeries is its shorter time of recovery and fewer side effects such as adhesions. Patients who go through laparoscopic surgery experience a much shorter time of recovery compared with those who have had open surgeries and so, they can lead a normal life much sooner. Moreover, wounds are healed much faster in this method and due to the shorter length of the incisions, patients experience less post-surgical pain and cardiopulmonary side effects.

It should be added that this unit is the most active one with the highest number of patients and work flow in the hospital. With the large number of OB & GYN specialists and infertility subspecialists in Ghaem International Hospital, whose patients are mostly admitted in this unit, bed occupancy here is about 100%.
