Internal Ward (Gelayol and Maryam Sections)

The Internal Medicine unit is located at the east wing of the hospital on its 3rd floor and was inaugurated in October 2013. Patients with gastrointestinal tract, glands, infectious diseases and neurological complications are cared for and treated in this unit.

The unit has the following facilities:
There are sixteen rooms (including 2 VIPs and 2 Isolation rooms) and 28 fully automatic electro-hydraulic beds in it. Each room has its own bathroom, LED TV, refrigerator, phone line, sofa for patients’ companions, nurse call system, central oxygen and suction and night light. The unit is divided into two men’s and women’s (Gelayol and Maryam) sections. The emergency exit is located at the end of the corridor. Physician’s room is equipped with a whole set of patient examination kit. It is equipped with macerator, PTS for quick transfer of laboratory specimens and medications, advanced systems of infusion pumps for accurate transfusion of medications, pulse oximeter, digital thermometer, glucometer, portable suction, PAX system for graph visualizations, high speed internet and closed circuit cameras.

Isolation rooms have an entrance corridor with a sink and a Deconx pump for disinfecting hands before and after going to a patient’s room. Two VIP rooms at this unit have high speed internet, a laptop for the patient, a hair dryer, a microwave oven and a tea-maker. Each patient will be given necessary relevant manuals.

With consideration of the large number of physicians, who work at this unit, there is often no empty bed there and its bed occupancy rate is almost 100%. Nurses at the said unit have years of experience of working at the Internal Medicine units and are completely familiar with orders made by the physicians.
